Open Question: Bankruptcy time frame in California?

I have filed for a chapter 7 here in California (Bakersfield) a little over two weeks ago. And now I got my court date for the 30th of September. Does it normally take this long? Will I still get a court date 60 days later? I am trying to get an answer from my lawyer, but she does not seem to give me a straight answer. She said something about up to six months...
